Answers:

Q. What should I look out for when buying a holiday static caravan?
A. We recommend that you find out the following as basic precautions. Is the person selling the caravan the actual owner? This can usually be confirmed via the Holiday Park office. Has the Park granted permission for the holiday caravan to be sold on the Park? Will the caravan stay where it is and if not where will it be moved to? Does the price agreed include any commissions to the Holiday Park? Are there any extras over and above the price agreed? How long can the holiday caravan stay on the Park for? Does the caravan have any outstanding finance and if so, how will it be settled? Is the holiday caravan for sale on a plot you are happy with and in an area that is appealing to you and your family? Have the caravan checked out by suitably qualified engineers - e.g. Corgi gas fitters and electricians. Is the Park a member of the British Holiday & Home Parks Association or National Caravan Council? If so certain guidelines have to be followed.

Q. What should I look out for when buying a touring caravan?
A. We recommend that you find out the following as basic precautions. Is the person selling the caravan the actual owner? Ask for proof of ownership before buying. Is there any outstanding finance and if so how will it be settled? Is the caravan roadworthy? Have it checked out by a reputable mechanic. Is your car big enough to comfortably pull a caravan? Does the price include any extras, e.g. an awning. Are you covered by insurance for towing and storage? Have all appliances and electrics tested by a suitably qualified engineer / electrician.

Q. What should I look out for when buying a camper van or motorhome?
A. We recommend that you find out the following as basic precautions. Is the person selling the motorhome / camper van the legal owner? Obtain proof. Like any other vehicles, campers and motorhomes require an MOT and road tax. Check on the status of these and also have a mechanic check the roadworthyness of the vehicle. Make sure the motorhome or camper van for sale is not too large for you to be comfortable driving. Have gas fittings and electrics checked by a qualified engineer / electrician.

Q. How long does my caravan or motorhome for sale advert stay on Caravan Bargain?
A. For Private sellers an advert stays as long as your motorhome, tourer or holiday caravan is for sale. Once no longer needed you can log in to your Caravan Bargain account and remove the advert. For Trade sellers this depends upon the sales terms agreed with Caravan Bargain.

Q. Why do I need to register before selling my caravan or motorhome on Caravan Bargain?
A. By registering you create your own membership account. This enables you to place adverts, include photos, edit your ad at will, change the photos and delete your ad when no longer required. In other words, you have control over how you advertise your caravan, camper van or motorhome for sale. Registration is quick, easy, free and does not commit you to advertising on Caravan Bargain. Registration details consist of name, email address, a username unique to you and a password. Your phone number is optional. None of these will appear on the Caravan Bargain website unless you want them to in your advertisement(s). If you don't want contact details on your advert then we will pass messages on to you - there is no charge for this service.

Q. What price should I sell my holiday caravan, tourer or motorhome for?
A. We are unable to advise on the price of your caravan or motorhome for sale - to do so would be unethical and in any case it would be impossible to accurately assess a fair selling price without actually viewing the caravan or motorhome for sale. There are widely available publications which give list prices or you could compare similar caravans and motorhomes for sale in your local press or in trade magazines.

Q. I want to sell on Caravan Bargain but don't want to pay online. Can I do this?
A. Yes. First register with Caravan Bargain then to advertise you have a choice of paying online or following alternative instructions - these involve emailing or posting the details and photos of your motorhome, camper van or caravan for sale and paying by cheque. This will take time and we strongly recommend our online payment service - we use PayPal so your payment is safe and secure. If you choose to advertise and pay by cheque you will still be able to edit your advert in the same way as if you had payed online. If you don't even want to register as a member then please email us to find out how you can place an advert.

Q. How do I add photos to my caravan or motorhome for sale advert?
A. You can add photos to your advert at any time after placing it. From your Caravan Bargain member's page choose to add photos, then browse to wherever the photos are on your computer (e.g. "My Pictures") and select the ones you want. The photos are then automatically uploaded to Caravan Bargain, resized as necessary and included in your advert.

Q. I have photos I want on my advert but they're prints, not digital. How do I do this?
A. If you don't have a way to convert the prints into digital images then you can post them to us and we will place them for you. There is no charge for this service. Please contact us for details. Note that you can still place your advert without pictures and add them later.

Q. I added photos to my advert but they haven't appeared. Why?
A. The most likely reason for this is that the process hadn't completed. Please try again. When the process of uploading the images is finished you will be automatically taken to a different page. Please don't click anything until this happens! If you still have problems then please contact us.

Q. The Holiday Caravan Park's website address in my static caravan for sale ad doesn't work. Why?
A. When adding the address to your ad did you include "http://" before the "www"? The address on your ad should look like this: http://www.theholidaypark.co.uk . If it doesn't you can solve this by logging in, going to edit ad and including the http:// prefix. Another possible reason is that the address is wrong - it's very easy to mistype web addresses. Again, check the address in your ad and if necessary change it. Finally, the park website may have moved to a new address or even been deleted. Check the address again and if necessary contact the park to find out the correct one.

Q. I am a trader and would like to advertise several motorhomes or caravans for sale. Are there special rates available for multiple ads?
A. Yes. Depending on how many and/or how often you want to advertise motorhomes, camper vans or caravans for sale we can offer discounted rates. Please contact us for more information.

Q. I can't remember my username and/or password. Can I find them out?
A. Yes. Go to the members login page and click the "Forgot your password?" link. You will be asked to enter your email address. Provided this is verified against our membership records you will be emailed your username and password.

Q. How long does it take for my motorhome, camper van or caravan for sale advertisment to appear on Caravan Bargain?
A. Your advert appears on Caravan Bargain immediately you have placed it. If required you can then add photos - easily and quickly.

Q. What information should I put in my static holiday caravan for sale advertisement?
A. Give as full a description of the holiday caravan for sale as possible. Information about the Holiday Park the static caravan for sale is sited on is also important - location, facilities, local attractions, etc.. If the park has a website remember to include the address - there will then be a link to it from your advertisement. In short, put as many details in the ad as possible - try to think of everything a potential buyer of the caravan would like to know. We recommend that you word your advertisement before placing it and then "copy and paste" into the advert form once logged in to your Caravan Bargain account. In short, the more information you give about your holiday caravan for sale the better. Remember, you can always alter your description as well as photos, price, etc. at any time via your Caravan Bargain account.

Q. What information should I put in my touring caravan or motorhome for sale advertisement?
A. The obvious information is year, size, berths, etc. and there are spaces for these in form for placing the advert. Perhaps the most important aspect of your caravan or motorhome for sale advert however is the description. This should have as many details as possible - try to think what you would like to know if you were a potential buyer - full and accurate description, history, maintenance, accessories included with the sale, etc.. We recommend that you word your advertisement before placing it and then "copy and paste" into the advert form once logged in to Caravan Bargain. The golden rule is that when more information is included in caravan and motorhome for sale adverts then more enquiries are received. Remember, you can always alter your description as well as photos, price, etc. at any time via your Caravan Bargain account.

Q. My ad is no longer needed as I've sold my caravan or motorhome. Can I delete it?
A. Yes. Simply log in to your Caravan Bargain account and go to "View, change or delete existing adverts".

Q. I'm wary about an enquiry for my motorhome or caravan for sale advert. What should I do?
A. We recommend that you be highly suspicious if you receive enquiries for your caravan or motorhome for sale if...

•  The enquiry is from overseas.
•  The transaction involves you paying any money at any time for whatever reason to the buyer of the caravan or motorhome, even if a buyers cheque has been cleared by your bank. A forged or otherwise illegitimate cheque may not be recognised by the bank for days or even weeks after being initially cleared - and when it is, which it will be, your account will be deducted by the amount of the cheque. In a legitimate transaction money should go only one way, from the buyer to the seller of the caravan or motorhome.
•  There is any question of shipping of the caravan or motorhome for sale anywhere, especially with no prior face to face meeting with the buyer.
•  The deal appears too good to be true - if it does then it almost certainly is!

There are many ways scammers operate and the above are only the very basic things to watch out for. If you are suspicious for whatever reason about a response to your caravan or motorhome for sale advert we would advise you not to proceed and if seriously concerned to contact the Police - we would of course appreciate being informed too. Please remember that whilst we are committed to an honest and reliable service for buyers and sellers Caravan Bargain cannot be held responsible for the accuracy of advertising on the site or for the integrity of potential buyers.
